Panties! Panties! Panties!

When panties first came into being, their original use were to minimize the feminine features of a woman. They were the brainchild of Elizabeth Miller but was later on redesigned by Amelia Bloomer during the 1850’s.  As opposed to their current form, the first panties, known as “bloomers”, actually looked like baggy pants as they ended at the ankles. It was during the post-war era that the panties became shorter, the primary reason for this being that women wanted more “freedom” when dancing.

Today, panties come in different size, shape and form. Here’s a short guide on the different types of panties:

Thongsoriginally called V-back, they are like tanga but without the full rear coverage. Just like the tanga,they have narrow strips for waistband and usually ride high on the hips.

Tanga – these pantes provide full coverage both in the rear and in front. However, the side coverage comes in the form of strips.

G-Strings – known as “butt floss”, this lingerie make it possible for women to wear tight pants without having to worry about visible panty lines. They are best suited for women who have smaller butts.

Boy Shorts or Boy Panties – also known as boyleg briefs, they are panties that go all the way down the hips offering full coverage of the rear. They could either be low-rise or high-rise.
