Why Are Shoe Gods Mad At Me?

I think the shoe gods are mad at me but I don’t know why.
 
I pay my respects to them on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis by purchasing beautiful shoes as offerings.  The offerings come in different styles, colors and labels, so that the gods won’t be bored.  Whether they be bitch red louboutin pumps, edgy balenciaga gladiator stilettos or giuseppe zanotti rhinestone sandals, I always attend to their every need, taking them to the shoe doctor when necessary and storing them in their shoe bags so that they remain rested and in pristine condition.  So, why are the gods mad at me and doing all they can to stop me from purchasing more offerings?  Why are they sending incompetent shoe salesmen my way who can’t tell the difference between wedges and platform sandals which results in the idiot sending me the wrong pair of shoes?  And of course, once I get the wrong pair, the RIGHT pair is completely sold out.  Why are they creating impromptu donut runs 20 minutes before the end of the ebay auction I’m watching listing a pair of super rare and super archived loubs?
 
I must have pissed them off.  But I don’t know what I did.  Perhaps I need to amp up the offerings.  Perhaps a bi-weekly run to Barneys will appease them and then I can finally get out of shoe purgatory.  We shall see if it works!

So you like lingerie, huh?  Hi there sexy beast.

I do too. Well, now I do. Growing up in a conservative household, I always thought of lingerie as tabooed costumes, worn by the sexual deviant.  Everytime I walked past Federick’s of Hollywood, or even Victoria’s Secret, my steps would quicken and I would consciously turn my head and steer my eyes away from the stores.  As I got older, I felt less and less inhibited (yes, college will do that to you. but no, I didn’t turn into a sorta lesbian in college!), and began to understand and develop a finer appreciation for  the freedom of exploration. Lingerie helped me feel sexy and glamorous and it provided me with newfound confidence to try new things, both in and out of the boudoir.

I’m so glad I’ve shed my former ”shield your eyes” mentality.  Because to live with such inhibition in a country where freedom of expression is part of our legal mandate would be to live unfabulously.  Now that would truly be deviant.
