Just when you think nothing she does would ever surprise you again, Lindsay Lohan strikes again.

Dressing Up For A Cosplay

Have you heard about “Cosplay”? It’s one of those latest crazes in Japan where people dress up as their favorite fictional character. In some places, however, Cosplay (or “Costume Play“) is limited to anime and manga characters.

Although most people have been in the habit of dressing up in costumes since time immemorial, it was only during the 80s that people in Japan have started dressing up based on their favorite manga and anime characters.

Cosplay is actually divided int two – basic cosplay and masquerade. Basic cosplay involves only dressing up while masquerading involves the full assumption of the character’s personality.

So what do you do if you get invited to a Costume Play convention? Well, you can start by thinking of your favorite anime or manga character. If you are not into those types of animation, you might want to consider going as your favorite superheroes or villains. 

Since, generally speaking, cosplays do not necessarily mean that you dress up as an anime or manga character, you can consider going as your favorite online game character. Fan of Mafia Wars? Then why not go as a sexy gangster girl?

October 31 has always been, for most countries, a time to bring out those Halloween costumes. But have you ever wondered where the idea for Halloween came from?

Halloween claims its roots from Celtic traditions as part of their celebration of the feast of the dead. During the said celebration, they were known to dress up in order to prevent harmful spirits from venting anger to them. It has also been tied to the Ancient Roman celebration of the feast of Pomona. The Catholic faith, in an  effort to easily assimilate their doctrine to our forefathers’ practices claimed November 1 as an All Saint’s Day; hence, Hallowe’en or hallow’s eve.

As kids, we use Halloween as an excuse to get our hands on mounds and mounds of chocolates and candies. It is also a special time for us to show off our costumes. As adults, however, priorities change and, instead of mounds and mounds of candies, we use Halloween as an excuse to wear something that can heat up the might.

One of the most common adult Halloween costume is that of the beer girls and bar maids. Many women prefer this because of the its subtle sexiness.
